Centre of Competence Ilsenburg

First founded in 1530 under the name of “Fürst Stollenberg Hütte“ the centre of competence Ilsenburg lies on the outskirts of the German Harz region. Today, around 14,000 wheelsets of different builds and sizes leave the iron and steel processing plant to be shipped to customers all around the globe. Whether in Chinese or US subways, in high-speed trains up to 400km/h, in freight trains or locomotives – the quality wheelsets from Ilsenburg are always the best choice.

Stock

23.000 m² of indoor and outdoor storage areas, and three warehouses for material and wheelsets waiting to be shipped: We only use the highest quality steels. All of our wheelsets have undergone the strictest incoming control and final checks before finding a place within our storage areas.

Assembly

Raw materials for wheels from Bochum + raw materials for axles from Brand-Erbisdorf + highly motivated, competent employees: In sum, this makes the wheelsets that us „Ilsenburger“ have been famous for the past decades.

The People

We employ around 160 people for our customer’s satisfaction: They value our employees’ competencies when working with materials and machinery, their precision and their team-oriented work. Through continuous training, we ensure that everyone is up to date on the newest industry standards that we keep setting.

Production Lines

We have three production lines for S-trains in local public transport, ICEs for high-speed trains, and freight/cargo trains. We are prepared for any requirements made of us, and we serve the entire breadth of the industry spectrum.
