CUTTING MACHINE OPERATOR

Precision work with the help of computer-controlled machines

Cutting machine operators use state-of-the-art, programmable machines or automated machine systems to manufacture individual parts for technical products, such as wheel hubs, down to the millimetre.

To prepare the manufacturing process, they program machines or set up turning, milling and grinding machines. To ensure precision during the work processes, they regularly check the quality and dimensions of the finished parts. If faults occur, they determine the causes with the help of suitable test methods and test equipment and optimise further production processes. They also undertake maintenance and inspection tasks on the machines.
