The thing that looks substantially mountainous in the scanning electron microscope at 20,000 times magnification, shows is the fine-grained, bainitic-perlitic microstructure, en-suring the special hardness of our new niobium alloy. It meets all criteria according to AAR and is clearly superior to comparable steels.
